A beautiful pot instantly makes your plant look "interior-worthy." But choosing the right pot is also practical: the size needs to be right, your plant needs to breathe well, and water shouldn't accumulate anywhere. We'll explain it simply below — so you get it right the first time.

1) Pot size: how to choose the right size
The easiest rule: choose a decorative pot that is slightly larger than the growing pot.
- 2–4 cm of extra space around the grow pot is usually perfect.
- Too tight = difficult to get in/out + water may remain.
- Too spacious = your plant will “sink” and it will look less attractive.
2) Inner pot vs. decorative pot: this is the difference
Many plants are grown in nursery pots (with holes). These are placed in decorative pots. This is convenient, as it allows you to easily water and drain excess water.
